THE LAWRET™ PROGRAM… In early 2011,
Louisiana Learns, Inc. will conduct the first
Louisiana Work-Ready Education and Training (LAWRET™)
program at Community Bible Baptist Church (CBBC),
1729 Monte Sano Avenue in North Baton Rouge.
Running five days a week for up to six months for each student, the LAWRET™ Program will train motivated young adults in the academic knowledge and personal behavioral skills they will need to perform as outstanding workers for area employers. When they’re ready, Louisiana Learns will help each LAWRET™ graduate get a permanent job.
THE LAWRET™ FIVE-YEAR GOAL is to train and successfully place in permanent jobs at least one thousand (1,000) participants. Louisiana Learns will start with just one classroom with between ten and twenty students in the first six months, and, to achieve the five-year goal, plans to expand to seven or eight classrooms with an average enrollment of 150 students by 2015.
